Kief Davidson

Kief Davidson is an Academy Award nominated director known for crafting films that inspire, inform, and entertain.

His latest feature, THE IVORY GAME, is a documentary following undercover intelligence operatives across the globe for 16 months as they infiltrate deep-rooted corruption at the heart of the ivory trafficking crisis. The film was executive produced by Leonardo DiCaprio and premiered at the 2016 Telluride and Toronto Film Festivals. It launched internationally as a Netflix original and was shortlisted for the 2017 Academy Awards.

In 2018 Kief directed “WHO SHOT THE SHERIFF?” about the 1976 assassination attempt on Bob Marley, which premiered on Netflix as part of the music history docu-series REMASTERED.

Kief also directed HBO’s OPEN HEART, which was nominated for an Academy Award/Best Documentary Short Subject. On a perilous journey across Rwanda and Sudan, Kief follows eight children in need of vital heart surgery and their desperate struggle to reach Africa’s only free, high-tech, cardiac hospital. Kief also recently directed and produced the companion documentary, BENDING THE ARC, featuring Dr. Paul Farmer, whose heroic battle against disease and poverty in rural Haiti led to a global transformation in health care. Produced by Matt Damon and Ben Affleck, the film premiered at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival and had its theatrical release that fall.

In addition, Kief has directed other prominent documentaries, including: A LEGO DOCUMENTARY, KASSIM THE DREAM, and his first film, THE DEVIL’S MINER, as well as commercial campaigns for global brands, including: GE, Toyota, Facebook and Absolut.
