Kevin Thomas

Kevin Thomas is one of the UK’s most celebrated and critically-acclaimed commercial directors. He has carved out an enviable reputation for his formidably expansive, impressively diverse and wildly mischievous body of work that encompasses emotive storytelling, peerless art direction and effortless comic timing.

He began his career as an award-winning creative at some of the most prestigious London agencies including AMV, TBWA and M&C Saatchi. The turn to directing was frankly inevitable.

Kevin has directed campaigns for global brands such as Google, Amazon, Sony, Playstation, Nike, Apple and Adidas amongst many others. His work has garnered the most respected awards in the industry including the Cannes Lions, the Emmy’s, D&AD Pencils and the British Arrows. He has also been named as one of the Top Ten Commercial Directors of the Decade by Shots Magazine.

Outside of advertising Kevin is prolific in the world of short film. His first short “True Love (Once Removed)” won best short film at Palm Springs and was also selected for Raindance and the LA Short Film Festival.  His second film “Sunday Roast” – starring David Thewlis and Craig Roberts – garnered widespread critical-acclaim on the international festival circuit after premiering at the BFI London International Film Festival.

More recently Kevin has won further D&AD pencils and an AICP award for “The Wayback”, a groundbreaking VR film project designed to trigger memories and spark conversations for those living with dementia, their carers and loved ones. The interactive 360-degree films immerse the viewer in touchstone moments in history in order to create positive connections and conversations in the present. The two films, both written and directed by Kevin, are part of the permanent collection of the BFI’s Film and TV Archive.
