“The Mayor,” a comedy written by Jeremy Bronson and executive produced by Bronson, Daveed Digs, Jamie Tarses, Scott Stuber, Dylan Clark, and Moxie’s James Griffith, has been picked up by ABC for its pilot season.
The show, which stars Lea Michele, Brandon Michael Hall, and Yvette Nicole Brown, documents a young rapper who, desperate to catch his big break, runs for mayor of his town. When he actually wins the election, he must work to transform his city.
The show is a part of ABC’s 2017-18 slate and looks to be an entertaining and hilarious addition to the network. Griffiths directed the pilot episode and is also an executive producer of the series.
