Tomas Leach’s The Lure celebrates its London premiere

The Moxie-produced feature documentary follows a treasure hunt unlike anything you’ve ever seen.

Eccentric multi-millionaire Forrest Fenn, who is best known as an art dealer and author, is at the root of this story which follows a chase to his alleged fortune. As the story goes, Fenn has hid around two million dollars worth of bounty in the Rocky Mountains and over 65,000 people have attempted to find it based on mysterious clues from Fenn.

Leach tracks the high-stakes scavenger hunt, in turns telling the stories of a handful of those trying to crack the clues, and the millionaire who keeps sharing them. As The Sun notes, “each hunter has a different story, from the police officer injured in the line of duty looking for something to pull her out of depression, to David, an ex-banker who gave up everything to live in the mountains and search for the fabled box of loot… Forrest Fenn himself is a curious figure. He clearly loves the attention and the adulation this has brought him.”

This marks the second documentary feature for Tomas, whose film, In No Great Hurry: 13 Lessons in Life with Saul Leiter, drew critical praise upon its release in 2014. Catch The Lure in select theatres in London now.
