Acclaimed director Peter Sollett has been widely praised for his versatile filmmaking style and ability to tell humanistic stories, featuring complex and relatable characters.
Sollett is best known for his critically acclaimed films including: Raising Victor Vargas (2002) which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival; Nick And Norah’s Infinite Playlist (2008), which premiered at the Toronto Film Festival and Freeheld (2015) which was picked up by Lionsgate and recounts the true story of Detective, Laurel Hester and her personal fight for justice while battling cancer during her final year of life. The film’s star studded cast includes: Julianne Moore, Ellen Page, Steve Carell and Michael Shannon.
Sollett currently resides in Los Angeles and is a professor of Cinema at the University of Southern California’s prestigious School of Cinematic Arts. He also serves as a creative advisor at the Sundance Director’s Lab.
