Luke Shanahan

The Australian writer/director began his career at Cherub Pictures in Sydney.

His first drama  “It Takes Two To Tango” premiered at MIFF and went on to play at over 30 festivals. That same year Shanahan was nominated at Cannes as part of the Saatchi and Saatchi “Best New Directors Showcase.” In 2009 his short-film – “The News” – screened at TROPFEST, later winning FutureShorts “most popular short on the internet” award. The film’s 2012 prequel, “Pet” met similar acclaim.

In 2013 Shanahan picked up a London International Award (LIA) for Direction for his commercial work for the Australasian brand Holden, and his South Australia MAC (Motor Accident Commission) spot won commercial of the year. Also that year Shanahan’s dark drama, “The First Date” premiered at the LA film festival to critical acclaim.

His first feature, the darkly comical – “Rabbit” began shooting in South Australia in the Summer of 2016 and stars Abbey Lee (“Mad Max”, “Neon Demon”) and Alex Russell (“Chronicle”, “Carrie”).
